Hello all,

I've been considering purchasing a tablet lately, and was wondering if anyone here is currently using one. I'd assume with Artisan. Is it worth it? Does it make a difference?

And what's a pretty good but economically priced one?

Thanks!

i have a good tip for everyone who wanna buy a tablet. at first it's definitly better to have one and is real fun to work with :) and my tip is . look for aiptek boeards, they are very very cheap (1/10 of wacom prize) and have a higher resolution. the only thing is they have only 512 instead of 1024 pressure... (i don't know the exact word). so a wacom A4 costs 600 Euro (about 650 Dollar here) and an aiptek (89 Euro 95 Dollar).

so it's definitly a good tip. a good friend of mine has bought one and is really happy.

www.aiptek.com

i got the 4 by 6 for $50 and i am very pleased. Especially since it was 50 dollars cheaper than a wacom.

it works well for you photoshop needs and is fairly cool with artisan.

Thanks for the replies guys,

Meloncully, where in Canada did you get it? I live in Toronto, any retailers that carry it near here?

Thanks again.

A favorite use for my Wacom tablet within Maya is painting skin weights. Because Maya allows you to set the pen pressure equivalent to transparency, you can get some really fine gradients in places that would normally take more time using just a mouse.

I do love it for Photoshop, too.

It has improved my workflow and decrease the time it takes me to do specific tasks. For that reason alone it's worth the purchase for me.

Time is money.

See ya,

Alec

alphatron, i live in the states. And i think i found mine at office max. If i am not mistaken the aiptek website has an outlet that you can buy from online. I think that best buy carries them to.

so try www.bestbuy.com and the aiptek store.
