View Full Version : What's a rifle bearing and how does it compare?
singularity2006 12-22-2003, 06:38 PM I was looking @ some case fans and saw the CoolerMaster Model:TLF-R82(TLF-R82-E1)Blue 80mm Neon LED Fan on newegg.com. It touts a new patented rifle bearing. But what is a rifle bearing and how does it compare to regular fans or non-rifle bearing types?

Take a look here http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/coolermasterledcasefans.php
The information is near the bottom of the page.
Apparently a rifle bearing can be loosely described as having a continuous groove (rifling) on the bearing shaft that keeps a constant flow of oil to extend the bearing life.
