Hey!
Been working on this for a while... mainly an anatomy exercise.
Now I'm looking for some C&C before I finish it up.
I'm not that happy with the head so I might remodel that from scratch... it was a bit of a rush job.

Im really surprised no-one has replied to this!
Lookin very good - the face seems a bit caved in on the side view, but the body is great - especially the hands.
Any chance of some wires?
Hey Andy!
I'm in the process of remodeling parts of her body and doing a new head.
So wires and new head will be posted soon.
Thanx for your critique and reply!
Merry x-mas!

Her bellybutton is really flat, and the head really needs work as you already pointed out. The lower arms also seem to be quite blank.
But it is really solid work so far.
J.K:
Care to elaborate what you mean with "quite blank"?
I look into that bellybutton issue.
Thanks!

I agree that the head is definitely an area that needs work but since you know that already I won't nit-pick on that any further.
In addition to the head, I would also suggest working on the hands, feet and ankles; with most of the model screaming out "Realism!" those areas really stand out to me. From this angle it appears that the hands are too uniformly flat, hands taper from the lower palm (wrist area) to the finger tips. The ankles simply look off!?, don't know what to suggest except look at more photos of ankles and keep tweaking, ankles area tough area to get right... I know. The feet are also a little off!?, perhaps to long vertically, more studying :). Also the line of her rib cage around her floating ribs look a little high.
Great work!!!

Well, there is just not enought detail in the lower arms compared to the rest of the body. But a wireframe pic would really help to point out where the model could be improved.

very cool...awesome job! there are a couple areas that might need a bit of tweeking...but over all its great!
some areas need a bit of smoothing...arms..around the knees(though the detail is cool)
and above the breasts looks strange to me...like her chest is concaved above the breasts. (ofcourse its entirely possible for someone to look like that...so this is more of an opinion)
oh and the hands are a bit flat. if you look at your hand....from your wrist it angles to your fingers. (it might be just that the wrists are too thin)
looks great...texture it! animate it!

Thanx for great crits guys!
I allready fixed the hands tapering issue.. I think the hands look a bit too detailed for my taste also so I will smooth out the detail a bit.
Arms have always been a weak spot for me... there are so much twisting and "muscle joining" in there IRL that is hard to get into a 3D model.
Her new head is basically done so I will posting some new stuff before new year (out of office right now).
Oh yeah... a tip: I used this book all the time while modeling... it's just great!

Big improvement on the head, but the belly really needs work.
It is a bit too long (possible reason see below) and lacks detail.
Otherwise? Well it might be the strange position of the upper body (very far back) but the breasts seem to be too high.
But it is coming along nicely.

I think you've gone a bit too far on the head; it's losing the cute quality that it had before. The proportions are coming along from the side, but the front shows that the eyes are too small and far apart (should be one eye width between them) and now it looks like a generic head model, not clearly a girl. Consider moving back a bit, merging the sucessful aspects of both versions of the head.
Agreed, the tummy could use a bit of work, but otherwise don't go changing too much - aimless tweakfests can turn a fresh model into something less than the original conception.

Thanx Jeremy!
Yeah, the head has been freaking me out for a while so I guess I will be spending some more work on that before I bring out the bubbly and call it done. :-)
Btw, I have your book (signed and all, yay!)... it's a good one and I hope you write a new one some day.

Don't know if you used splinemodeling or whatever, if you update the front look, print it out, make a drawing and a few notes what has to be fixed and place the drawing on a plannarmap behind your models head, so you really can fix this very easy. Couldn't see the last update, but in general, its a nice work so far.
As Steven Stahlberg once said, there is no fast 3d there is just good 3d.
As I interpret this, it's staying selfcritical and being ready to refine step by step and also go back to work out things again from new. No click is a lost click, and as I see, you're workin' this way too.
Many details look very good already, keep the good work up, and have a happy New Year!
Angel:
Good tip!
Just looked at your girl, looking great so far man! Keep it up

THanks, I'll let you know when an update there is on the way...
The tip: Most welcome, can't wait to see your next update!
Keep on rockin' !
