View Full Version : Sphere Of Influence Selection Tool?
television 12-22-2003, 12:22 AM Does Maya have a selection tool that has a sphere of influence whereby the points/vertices in the center of the selection circle are more affected than those toward the perimeter of the circle?
This allows you to keep a smoother mesh when pushing/pulling on vertex dense areas. There isn't such an abruptness between whats selected and whats not. Lightwave has such a tool, does Maya?

Disregard above, I read the other thread about soft selection and am looking into Byron's Poly Tools. Looks...................Fantastic!
You can also use the poly sculpt tool.
BPT rocks, we got em at uni! :bounce: I'd highly recommend purchasing a copy to mess around with :)
In the meantime, you can check out Claydough magnets, which is also soft select in maya! (not as fancy or fast as BPT though, but it's done entirely thru mel and is free!)http://www.macvizion.com/Claydough/Docs/clayDoughNotes/clayDoughNotes.html
