Deep in the misty jungle, amid the rhythmic pounding of animal skin drums, an altar glows in flickering candlelight from inside a whitewashed hut. The centerpiece of this altar is a mummified monkey head, eyes sown shut for all eternity. But unbeknownst to all but a select few, in the deep of night, when all the drums have grown silent and the tired Worshippers sleep soundly in their beds, the Voodoo Monkey comes to life, and watches over the village with eyes unrestrained by the twine stitches that cover long dead sockets.....

Thanks!! The cookies are offerings to the gods -- in Voodoo and related religions, it's common to place cookies, pastries, liquor, etc. on the altars (especially liquor -- the spirits like to take a nip now and then....). Why chocolate chip cookies? Good question..... I guess I had cookies on the brain when I made this image.
