Hey man,

I really like the image!

There are a few technical things that it might help to clean up. I'm not sure if your planing on doing any more work on it, but a few small things I see are:

-The bowl could use some refining. Try to get a nice Fresnel affect with your reflections. Having some darker lines around the outside could help define its edge a little more.

-The highlights on the fish look blown out. I'm not sure if that's from the caustics, the shader, or if you have another light on the fish, but It would help to tone that down.

-The cats eye looks dark and dry.

-Your image looks a little grainy. Try adding a really subtle blur to smooth things out.

I really agree with Murtaza.It's so cool.I like the cute character in the fish tank.But I wonder what it is,a pig or a fish?The cat is really like Garfield,I mean,if he was more fat.HAHA:)

@AJ1: Thank you so much for your valuable input.
There is a fresnel reflection on the class but it doesn't look quite right. It might because I model the bowl single-sided in order to get the water-to-glass refraction. I guess maybe it's better for me to layer another glass shader on top in order to get a dark edge? I would like to hear from you if you have any other solution in mind.

Hey man,

It works pretty well when you model the bowl as it would be, with two sides. Then model the shape of your water, and make sure that it gets really close to the inside of your bowl, but doesn't quite touch or overlap.

Apply a glass shader on your bowl, and a water one on your water. You'll need to crank your ray depth and wait a while for it to render, but It can give a nice result.
