View Full Version : Is the render engine of C4d finalrender?
michaeli 06-18-2002, 03:15 PM It was said that the render engine in C4D 7.3 was as the same render engine in finalrender, which was developed by cebas. Is it true, is that means finalrender is a part of C4D, then why there's no HDRI and SSS surport in C4D?

where was this said and by who?
Understand that Blue Moon Render Tools, even though it was based on PRenderman, had RayTrace and Radiosity years before Pixar added either to PRenderman.
Could those features have been "add ons" that would have to be coded into Cinema by Maxon using proprietary stuff?
There's a whole lot of reasons why this could be...

I think someone is talking @"£$ again. Where did you here this? Be careful what you hear, so much talk (especially on the net) is bad heresay.
Might be wrong but that statement{final render} sounds like one from someone who does not like C4D,but grudgingly has to accept it has a brilliant render engine,so they refuse to accept it was Maxons work etc :hmm:
I think as the ranks of C4D users grow and grow we are going to get a lot of this crap,as pathetic as it is.

hehehe...
I just heard a good one about MAX users: they get faster render speeds from BRYCE! (which is notoriously slow!).

Cebas (the creaters of Final Render) were contracted to use their knowledge to improve CINEMA 4D XL7's render engine by adding Radiosity and Caustics. It isnt Final Render bolted on, its Cebas' excellent knowledge integrated into the program :)
Thanks for clearing that up Imashination
