i Love the first character...where did you get the idea for him. I can't watch the reel because the firewall at work won't let me but i will have a look when i get home. Love the chracter though

I think it's based on an old Black and White 1 character design.

Black and White is a computer game from Peter Molyneux and his company Lionhead. The character above is (most likely) based on some concept art that has been published 2-4 years ago.
Spot on interpretation by the way, it's almost immediately recognizable :)

The speed from the server was quite low, so i put it on my server (10Mbit) to speed things up for others.

Will remove it in a week or so. Or, if you want me to, at once of course.

Hey man, nice work here! Must feel great to be done! The troll has great personality, and the tender has great detail (like the scuffmarks on the blocker). I'm not gonna be like the typical VFS squad with smoke up your ass replies; I am going to give crits with my compliments. The texturing on the troll could vary a little more. I feel like he needs darker, and lighter areas to his skin. In general I think his texture needs more depth. That's not to say it's bad though, I just wanted to give some real 'critique'. I would expect that you're not going to change this guy, but rather build something new (I'm sure you're as sick of your work as I was!) Happy holidays, and I hope all goes well in the job world!!

yo thanks rob for the critique. its the only real one i have gotten on here since i put it up. everyine seems to be more worried about where i got the design then letting me know how it is.
how are things going for you? i have a few things on the go but we will have to see how those pan out.

anyways keep the critques coming. nobody gets better at this by ppl just saying they like it.

well personally i think theres something wrong with the tender. I don't know if its the lightening or the texture. It almost looks stretched in the above pic.

i just thought of something you should have done with your first character. You should have made his ear different on the left side...i mean you have one arm and leg longer or bigger so why not make the ear on that side with a different shape then the other. I also can picture him with some club or something in the big hand of his.

hey james thanks for the input. i never thought about changing the ear. i did make a axe made from stone and was tied around a stick but i felt it didn't really go with him. i see him as more of a mountain troll guy that was created from a human. sort of a dr. jeckle and mr. hyde type deal.
also with the tender i have a few issues with him myself. he was my first full character that i did 4 months ago. and the troll was my second character. but thanks for the input and keep it coming.
