i saw about this article somewhere in internet...also some of my teachers say the same thing. anyway have u guys ( geforce users ) find lots of problems when u use maya. well just wondering ..because some of my friends got various strange problems when they are using maya...even though its not a serious problem...its very annoying :D ..well..personally...i use geforce and i also got a problem......sometimes...very rare....when i'm using maya..suddenly my window is killed and shutdown automatically :annoyed: . so hopefully..we can discuss about those things here ....even its better if we can help some people here by helping them solving their problem. thanx alot

Sometimes my viewports and particularly the UV texture editor slows to a crawl. I've noticed this mostly happens if i have hardware texturing on at the time.

Also sometimes all the names of the nodes disappear from the hypergraph and hypershade, that doesn't happen too often.

those are my only probs.

Never encountered any problems only one i can think of is that i don't let maya open when i start quake cause then my pc is going all crazy, anyway im gonna buy a new vidcard next month and it's defenitly NOT going to be a Gforce cause that are just ****ed up gaming cards, im going for ATI.......

I can't get the fur to render; would this be due to my geforce card, then?

I had problems when i had old detonator drivers (23.11 and before) , but now it's good .

Galo you talk about ATI but did you see the last matrox graphics card ???
Matrox is coming back with a monster :surprised :

erwin1978 : you're problem doesn't provide from your gforce because the fur render is a processor-work .

i have a 128MB Radeon 8500, and the only problems I get with Maya are color flickering in the viewports. Its actually kind of annoying. Sometimes everything will be tinted red, or green, or blue, or sometimes all whited out.

If you can foot the bill, or just buy a used one.......... Oxygen is the way to go!
I started with an oxygen 102 ( a ways back lol ) and have since ran through the 202, 402, Vx1, GVX1, and the present love of my life the GVX420 with 128 mgs.
I've got some history with these guys and have used two of the wildcat models in production. I have only one card I wasnt happy with (the VX1) and it was the cheaper game card type. For 3d its a pretty important choice so research to find the one for you.

I have a 16 mg and a 32 mg oxy for sale now if anyones interested. :D
