Hi there,,
Can anybody help me with this one? What's the best way to do DOF in XSI?
I know that there are two basic ways:
1) using internal DOF lens shader on Camera
2) using Depth Pass and getting DOF in post production.

I tried both. First one gives me good results only when Antialiasing is set up to very high values (= long rendering time)
Second gives me poor results at all, though maybe I'm doing something wrong...

:lightbulb
Any Ideas?

There is a third way actually that is fast and provides better result that After Effect.
Apply a 2d DOF as an output shader (which is a post effect but within XSI).

There are actually 2 different kind of DOF output, one normal and one automatic, but I am not sure what the difference is. Maybe someone with more experience could tell us...

Thanks _D1,,
This is what I needed. It's fast and it gives the results I just wanted.
Thanks once more.
