I believe that there is still a forum for posting pictures, it is just called different : "Critique"

But you character looks really good. Did you do it in Maya (stupid quistion)

i'm definitely impressed by this creature......

.....did you design him?
.....do you have any concept sketches available?

.....nurbs...subd....polys?

don't know if you want critiques...but one little nit would be more of a blend between the pink skin to the white underbelly texture wise.

awesome creature......can't wait to see him animated...please post some animations when you have them

The creature I built is built out of polys (in Maya) and then I'm using the poly smooth tool. Poor mans version of Sub D. I guess. Right now I'm in the process of texturing him. After I get the UV's done I'll rig him. I'm still learning animation but I'm real interested. I did a test to make sure the mouth was opening and closing correctly. The color test are just mock ups in Photoshop. Wanted to figure out some things before I started building the real textures. I did a concept drawing for this guy a long time ago, she's changed a lot since then. I have some plan view drawings of the creature that I used to model off of but I don't have them on my site right now. I'll try and get that up there this weekend. Sorry about posting in the wrong section. I'll throw the concept drawing in the correct section.

Peace,

Wow, nice work. The creature has a really good design to him.

Question, were those images rendered through maya's internal rendering system or through a 3rd party one?

Hope to see a wireframe someday =)

Rendered straight out of Maya. Most of it was done in Photoshop. You should be able to see the progression from Maya render to final PSD file.

It's really nice! I think you should work a bit on the bumps and specially on the lighning. A good lightning can make a huge difference. I'm not saying it's bad but looks pretty basic (lightning). Anyway if that's the look you want it to have, then it's fine. :)

Great design. He has an almost playful feel to him but he could also eat you at any moment. As others have said though I would work on the bump map more. Nice job though.
