View Full Version : displaying a texture in a image plane
boomji 06-17-2002, 07:39 PM hey dudes,
1) first of all why does maya come to a stand still when displaying image planes...i then have to turn on fast interaction which defeats the entire pourpouse of having a refrence image.
2)when i put the texture option on inthe image plane(which i want from the hypershade...say for example leather)...the image plane shows nothing in the view port. only renders it...so whats the work around to this ???
thanks of course

to the first question : this doesn't happen to me :hmm: maybe a graphic card issue ??
to the second : i'm suprised too that it's not displayed. this is what the maya help says :
----------------
Texture
The texture the image plane uses when Type is Texture. A texture assigned to an image plane does not display in the views.
----------------
so :D . one way around may be to just render a nurbsplane with the texture applied. or just put this plane in the background and constrain it to the camera.

ok,ok i'm cracking my self up...i got a raise today :)
thanks by the way(danke)
