View Full Version : Intro for CD-ROM done solo with Maya
ujeni 06-17-2002, 04:54 PM Hi everyone, I've been lurking around for a while now and decided to post a few frames from an intro animation that I just finished for a CD-ROM.
It's actually my first project with Maya (I was a Cinema 4d guy and a lightwave guy before that).
Very basic stuff, but the client wanted to get an idea across in very little time (both for the animation and the time to complete it).
Used Maya 4, combustion and after effects.
Let me know what you think. I plan to post some of my other stuff here soon.
Love this forum! I'm here to stay! :)

Reminds me on the crystal-creature of a few of the older Star Trek:TNG-Episodes. :bounce:

I'd say it resembles more the ice crystals from Titan A.E.... The crystal entity from ST:TNG was oddly shaped like an hourglass but with shards going in all directions across the middle...
omg, I just realized that I just critiqued a Star Trek comment... jesus christ I'm going to hell.... or I watch too damned much TNG.... oh well

Reminds me of the bezillion chrystals on wallpapers everywhere out there on the net.
But putting motion in it is to boldly go where no man has gone before. :D

Boy dude, that's gonna be a tough one for me to accept.... Superman came in a buzz-lightyear-esque cheesy rocket looking thing.... At least everything that I've ever seen of origins of superman has been that way....
See?

I love Supe 1 & 2.. But 3 and 4 are not that great..
In 3 I did like that part that Superman was sitting in that bar breaking bottles with peanuts

Joril:
I think your mistaken about the amount of wallpapers featuring funny looking crystals...
You must be thinking of the naked-poser-chick-trapped-in-a-crystal-sphere-hovering-over-water wall papers...an easy mistake I grant you...
hehe
