I'm getting more familiar with Maya and I wanted to know does Maya export any files that aren't specific to the program. I see it can import many different file types but it does't seem to export much. Do I have to download something or am I just looking in the wrong place. Really I would just like to expot some obj's.

Window>Settings/Preferences>Plug In Manager

You need to load/auto-load your obj export plugin [you will find other export options there as well...]
