Nice work. The perspective of the last pic seems a bit skewed, almost fish-eyed, as if the pencil is curving away from the viewer. But the model is spot-on. In the 1st render, the wood is a bit over-glossed, but that's just my opinion. Usually a high-gloss finish like that wouldn't be bumped with the wood, it would be glass smooth (due to its' thickness, it would fill the gaps in the wood grain).
Ya gotta love final render, almost as good as Lightwave (just kidding).

Nice work !
just a crit on the pen's surface : it's too smooth !!! a very light bump would add tremendously to the render. Also, that 0.5 mm seems to bee too clean, almost imported straight in pshop post-render.
