Character Concept: Spidergoblin

Take insperation from the Gremlin series of movies have we? The concept is good but if you are going to make it in 3d just search for gremlin art from the movies and you will find basically the same character. Your character is so close to the gremlin spider that it might as well be it from what I remember.

Thanks. I didn't get this from the gremlins, but now that you mention it, it does look a lot like them. Subconscious working overtime I guess. I actually thought it looked kind of like the little forest imps from the Mummy 2. But now I definitely see the gremlins in this guy. Oh well, it will make for a neat 3D model anyway. :D

Nice concept, but again, you're better off finding a "real life gobline/gremlin" for the best texture reference. but thats only if you plan on giving him that traditional grainy, spotty skin.

that Balrog scene in your concept gallery, are those characters actual sprites from a 2D videogame, or did you draw those yourself??

I drew them myself. In Photoshop actually. They aren't real detailed though, so they aren't supa' cool front page material. Just small gesture work.

And as far as texture work goes, I'll probably be looking up how different spiders look. Some of the plain ol' garden spiders around my house look neat, and I'd like to use something from their designs. I don't know if I'll follow the color layout of this concept or not, but it's a start for me. :D
