A scene from an appr. 20-years old hungarian marionette-film.
The story is based on a bungler / clumsy goat's life, who makes as if he would be good at everything.
Lot of people goes to him if they have problems but his every attempt miscarries, that is why at the end of the film
he has to escape always.

I made the picture during 3-4 weeks with 3dsmax5 and I use brazil... and photoshop.
I am waiting for your comments!

thanks,

ohjee :)
Try render with cel/toon shader :bounce:

Anno ezen nőttem fel :) Mostmár csak a kockás fülű nyúl hiányzik

Nice scene, but the shoes material is not the best (a bit plastic like)

An original picture from the tail.

I don't think cell shading is the way to go with this image. Although, it would probably look OK.

The nice thing about this piece is even though the modeling is simple, the rendering and presentation gives it life. They actually look like marionette puppets on a mini-stage. I think you should add strings and make the characters jointed to complete the effect.

I would change the ground texture to something other than a procedural too.

Optigon-cg:
The puppets were not moved with strings. That's why I did not mark strings, because the hungarians would have watched it strangly! :)
The aim was that it could be felt that this is a marionette puppet.

overall it looks good, but there's only one thing that bothers me...

the shadows lack depth

they are flat and not like in the real world as you would expect from a stop-motion series (that's what i think it is when no strings are used)

anyway nice work and if the shadows are fixed it's even nicer

The shadows are being without depth?

Looks good except for the comments already made. Man these Brazil GI renders are looking better all the time. I wish LW had as good of GI rendering. Maybe in 8. :p

Cheers,
JS
