View Full Version : Using FBX to export Maya cloth animation?
cdavis 12-11-2003, 02:48 PM Does anyone know how to get a Maya cloth animation out of Maya using FBX & then import it into Lightwave using FBX again.
I seem to be having difficulty baking the cache.
any ideas would be greatly appreciated

FBX does not export mesh dynamics. The only way I know to get mesh dynamics into Lightwave is to export an .obj sequence or use The Beaver Project to export a Lightwave Motion Designer file.
Mark Wilson from Passion Pictures is going to release the "Point Oven Full", it letīs us bake deformations in Messiah/LW or Maya and import them in all this 3 packages, according to him it will be $50, cheap cheap cheap :beer:
