Autodesk decided to use Visual Studio 2010 to compile the Python for Maya 2013, instead of the VS2008 which normal Python distributions are built with. Does anyone know if someone in the Maya community is maintaining a public build of the standard MySQL-python database connector (https://github.com/farcepest/MySQLdb1) using VS2010 for Maya 2013 Windows 64-bit Python?

A handy UC Irvine site (http://www.lfd.uci.edu/~gohlke/pythonlibs/#mysql-python) has builds, but for VS2008, and so dies on import if the VS2008 C library DLL isn't present. Even if things are somehow tweaked to load the library, having two different C runtimes isn't a Good Thing.

I'm going to be downloading the VS2008 Express package and see if I can get this to build, but my last experience with Windows compilation was a decade ago and it would be nice if someone has already done the necessary suffering... :)
