Looking cool! I would like to see some more of the vehicle, though.
Since I was curious, I checked your site. You made some cool looking vehicles, man!

Keep it up!

Hey another sheffielder!

I really like this render. The lighting on it looks great. Is it HDRI or just a normal lighting setup?

I like how you have chosen to crop/frame this image. It definately makes the viewer want to see more of the vehicle. Which I do!

Really to give a better crit on the vehicle it's self I think you ought to put a few more renders up so that people can see the whole form.

From what I can see it looks like great modelling, very detailed and accurate. The only thing I'd say is mabye you could add more detail to the textures on the dials. At the moment there are no numbers or other bits of infomation you'd expect on a speedometer or what ever it is on this vehicle.

Anyway, gret work. keep it up!

I love it the design is wicked! It's got s definte wipeout inspiered vibe to it. I love the designs in that game, and this would sit there along side them with no problems at all.

What software did you use?

WHat did you create the material with? I'm a max user and would use brazils car paint shader for something like this. I wouldn't have a clue how to do it without that. Have you got any tips or do you use brazil to?

I'm in Nether Edge in sheffiled. Where about are you?

Amazing model, simply stunning. Just one question: Why are the wings at the front on backwards?

Hey guys, thanks for the comments.

Mike, I used Lightwave 7.5, and the main surfacing uses a mixture of soft reflections and anisotropic specular in G2. The bright highlights are just photoshop'd after :) I guess that makes tips a little pointless, as I have no clue how to use MAX or Brazil (though we should be starting to use MAX at wrk soon).

Nether Edge isn't so far away, I live in Norton Lees (just outside Woodseats).

Nearly forgot, no idea why the wings are orientated the way they are, I didn't design this vehicle, it was designed by Mr Stephen Tappin (www.stephentappin.com), a VERY talented concept artist I am lucky enough to have work with. He dsigned most of the other racers I built for Powerdrome, and Rich Wright designed the others. You can see more of them at www.lw3d.co.uk (look in the Argonaut section).

Cheers!

You never know one day I might want to pick up lightwave so your tips might be useful one day. A bit of a longterm thing. I'm still teaching myself max so I doubt I'll dabble with LW too soon.

I used to go to college up at norton. Yeah it's not too far away at all. Which company do you work for.

I had a quick look at some of the other design on that site and they all look great. Are they for a game or just for nice hight quality renders?

My sites have two sets of racers, jet ones, and propeller ones. The jet ones (on my folio site www.lw3d.co.uk) are all designs from the game I'm working on called Powerdrome, an xbox/ps2 title.... I work for Argonaut Sheffield (formerly known as Particle Systems). They were all designed by Steve Tappin & Rich Wright. They were all built as Hi-def models for use in promo's, trailers, and for deriving textures for the lowpoly ingame models.

The propeller ones are ones I designed myself, but inspired by the Powerdrome ones. I plan to do a short race movie with them, but time will tell if I ever get that done or not.

Cheers!
