Intrepid are a videogame development studio based in Wimbledon, south-west London, England. We are a member of the lionhead group, founded by the legendary Peter Molyneux.
We are looking for a full-time Background/level artist for our up-coming Microsoft published XBox title BC (http://www.intrepidgames.com/screenshots.htm) . The background artist position chiefly involves taking extremely simple level meshes built by level designers and working them up to an extremely high level of photorealistic polish using 3Dmax and our own proprietary texture blending plugin.
The position suits someone with strong modelling and diffuse/bump painting skills, good UVW mapping, some experience of videogame work and an understanding of how action games play. They must also be willing to work only on naturalistic environments for the duration of the project. Needles to say we are pushing the boundaries in terms of what is technically possible in real-time, and we expect our artists to be able to work in a flexible manner and be open to new techniques and processes.
