View Full Version : 3dsmax 5.0 Just exit without ask for nothing.. Help Please...

When I Start 3dsmax 5.0 and make in the geometric menu a simply pyramid. He just exit without ask for nothing.. Just Exit. and I try 5.1 Update and is the same problem. Even 5.1 SP1 and nothing.. I try too. Reinstalling the program and the same thing.. again and again.. So. I NEED HELP. please... please.. I Can't work.. And I know. someone here. know the solution.. THANK. AND HELP ME PLESE...:cry:

you could verify that your video drivers are up to date. if so, then you best option might be to contact Discreet support. Looks like you've done pretty much everything that might be recommended with the info you gave.

oh yes... its a common syndrome known as 'eating desktop'.

method of detection:
a max user staring blankly at their windows desktop, mouth wide open.

known remedies:
only one - designer's twitch. after any modification to a scene/model etc, a lightning fast 'ctrl-s' movement with the left hand.

anyways: it happens to most anyone eventually, and some more than others. at my last job i had a discreet certified workstation with proper drivers (hp) and it was just as common as any other machine that i have used.

not much of a help, but hopefully consoling, just knowing that you arent the only one ;)

Hi, well, i had a problem like that and the cause was a virus. I removed it and the things gone back to normal. I recommend you to scan your system and see if that's the cause of the problem. Hope you can fix that, good luck.

It is Definitely a virus ( Some worbot or something ) anyway let me explain.

Max is using complicated formulas to achieve polygon mastering and tranformation even for a simple pyramid. A virus, is optimized for less-math-complicated programms , therefore when it tries to be executed in max's exectutable file it ends up as a Fatal error for max uncovering the hidden virus.

Normally a good virus would never crash the program it runned.
Solution : use NAV or MCAFEE to eliminate the virus. Re-install program..
