"The name of Will Vinton will forever be linked to the art of Claymation, a stop-motion animation technique involving the re-sculpting of clay characters under camera. Vinton Studios, founded in 1975, quickly became the world leader in this painstaking art form and continues today to be one of the largest producers of animated commercials, and prime-time network TV features. Eleven prime-time Emmy’s and numerous Clio Awards are testament to the quality and dedication of the Vinton Studio artists and directors. Examples of their work seldom appear in the marketplace, and Just Kids Nostalgia is proud to be able to offer this incredible collection of progressive models and final clay figures. It should be obvious to all who view these wonderful works of art that they are precisely that…the details and workmanship are simply amazing.

The offered pieces cover a broad range of Vinton Studio work. Commercials are represented by such notable figures as Cap’n Crunch, The Noid, Dan Dog (Alpo dog food), Ninja Turtle (for Crunchabunga Pizza), Lips (for Tang orange drink) and, of course, from one of Vinton’s most recognizable commercials, the California Raisins. TV special figures include Mark Twain from The Adventures of Mark Twain, Rex and Herb, dinosaur stars from A Claymation Christmas Carol. From Will Vinton’s Claymation Easter we have the Easter Bunny and Wilshire Pig. Assorted vegetables such as Lick Broccoli and Rudy Bagaman made appearances in Meet the Raisins.

Vinton Studios also pioneered the animation art of Foamation, a process wherein figures made of elastic foam over a mechanical frame could be stop-motion filmed in much the same manner as clay figures. Using such a process, a series of commercials for NFL Fox Football was produced that included likenesses of Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long and Chris Collingsworth.

Finally, an amazing, never-aired Claymation spoof of the TV show, Seinfeld, was produced, and we have many of the figures (as well as a copy of the video) from this project. Included are Jerry, Elaine and George as themselves along with their super-hero alter egos: Superman (Jerry), The Incredible Hulk (George), and Plasticman (Kramer). Alas, we only have the unfinished body of Wonder Woman (Elaine). Detailed sets of the Diner and Jerry’s apartment are also available.

Various other characters, molds, mechanisms, Vinton Studio Talent Books, etc. round out this amazing offering."
