Hello and welcome to the Speed Modelling Challeng calender week two 2013.
Thanks for joining us.
Every callender week we will do a new Speed Modelling. So there will be a bunch of 52 challenging Speed Modelling sessions throughout the year for you to participate. They will eather start on Sunday (evening) or Monday (as we all live in different countries, with different time zones).
There is also no restriction. If you liked a previous theme better than the actual you can also participate in that again.
I figured that when applying to jobs for modelling they frequently ask how fast you are. Modelling is not all about Hard Surfaces and you should also be "speedy" when it comes to organic modelling. The humanoid/robot-theme went well last year, so I figured we should do some organic themes.
So to make it not too complicated - as there are allways ones who are fresh to modelling. We will do body parts in this series of SMCs.
The first SMC was all about cute faces, so to take our modelling process forward and have in the end a whole character we will dedicate this week to clothing. After that we will have a week for hands and feets and for bodies (without clothing).
You can modell and/or sculpt clothing but please watch the edgeflow - since our character should be suitable for animation.
It is up to you to decide what kind of clothing you would like to do. You can go freestyle and imagine clothing, or you can pick a given design or charcter and model his clothings. In both ways you will need references. If you participated in the Cute Face-SMC you could also model suitable clothes for your characters face.
So, last but not least: Have fun!
