The DOF is subtle and yet so effective - I also find B&W renders are harder to pull of than you think but the contrast seems good also. Well done.
BTW, have you considered doing a sepia render also?
I like it. Looks photorealistic and it has a nice mood. :)

Very nice post. Did everyone notice the subtle water puddle in the lower right. An excellent detail that adds to the scene without screaming for your attention.
1 thing I may mention is that the ground look like it has too much bump or spec on it. something about it takes away from the scene's phtorealism.
I'm just picky. Its a great shot.

maybe this is past its time, but I thought the image would gain credibility with the addition of some lense shadowing. Im not sure thats the right term. Take a look:
