This is for the cgchat gameart competition, where we have to model a beast and a rider under 6000 faces. Here's a drawing of my beast:
And I started roughing out the body:
The rider will be a samurai, I'll draw a concept soon.
At the same time I have to do my semester's final exam for college, so I'll probably use this model in my exam's scene too.

Not much to crit yet, but the the left (his left) back leg seems a bit weaker than his right.

Looking pretty good so far. I'll be interested to see how you resolve that mane in the concept. Only crit would be if both halves are mirrored (L and R) the legs don't seem to be very rounded. Like Kotter said, the back left looks a little thinner from this angle.

Yeah I fixed the back legs, was kind of tired last night and wanted to post some wip anyways. I have an idea for the mane but i'm not sure how well it'll work. I reworked my concept a bit (will post new version soon) and made it more well-brushed and less fluffy so i'll probably just model it and use smoothing groups to seperate the different areas where the bunches of hair grow from, and stick a nice texture on it.

updated the wip pic. didn't have much time to work on it, but i started defining the muscles in the legs. back legs are perfect, but i'm kinda struggling with the front legs.

I think there is a few to many polies clean them up and you could use more on the head..

Yeah I thought so too, but I have most of the body done and i'm only using 1/3 of my budget so I should be ok. I'll optimize at the end if I run out.
