View Full Version : Transporting rigged characters easily
softdistortion 12-10-2003, 04:41 AM What is the most efficient way to handle saving/loading rigged weighted characters. You bounce between layout and modeler to make the skelegons>bones>weight maps etc. Then you animate in layout. But is there an efficient, accurate way to move them between different scene setups? Sometimes I get weird deforming and dragging of surfaces when I import them from another scene.

You have to rig specifically with that in mind. Lightwave 8 will make it all seamless. Right now once you build with skelegons, convert to bones and add expressions etc you cant really go back to modeler and retweak the skelegons and have the data update into layout.
