Well the mini series has received so far mixed reviews, but everybody seem to agree that the VFX by ZOIC (A LW house) are top notch.

Tell us what LW VFX from the series has impressed you.

The glowing spine was cool.

Had me wondering if her nipples blinked on and off as well.

LOL!

now, the "space bus" shot at the dock station in Earth was very cool.

-edit-

not Earth, it was a dock in a colony

I thought every shot in the show was incredibly good. Those guys at Zoic rock the hizzy. :buttrock:

Oh, wait, that was *us*...

Early on, that spine shot was assigned to me. I was disappointed I didn't get to do it. But hell, there were plenty of cool shots to go around. :)

He, he. well, just finished the second episode, just caught the last hour, I liked the space explosions alot not over the top and just enough sound to let you know something blew up, kinda subtle.

You guys at Zoic did a great job. Congrats!

Wow, just watched the trailers and behind the scene. Really cool to see LW done effects like this!! :applause: Pity it didn't have ny exterior shots of the Battlestar.

EP1 shot from space, looking at all the mushroom clouds spreading in the atmosphere. Very cool.

I LOVED the shots on Galactica! I also thought that the story was told really well in that "no holds barred" sort of way. I loved the fact that they didn't hold back on the more controvertial scenes. They played it up, instead of dummying it down in the latest Hollywood style in order to be "PC".

The only thing I didn't like about the shots were the extreme zoom uses. I'm a huge fan of flowing cinematic shots. I got a little dizzy watching it. Simply just a stylistic preference on my part though. Other than that, the lighting was great and the modeling was solid. Also, the Cylon Centurions kicked ASS! They were so bad ass looking. Props to the designers. That opening scene when they appeared on the Armistice Station kicked my ass! Great work! I hope to see more if and when it goes into a series!!!!

I thought the hand-held camera approach to the space battle scenes was really effective, and the subtle sound effects worked much more realistically than huge explosions considering there isn't much sound in space anyways. VERY good job! :buttrock: And I will agree Zoic rocks the hizzy. ;)

Hmm nothing really stood out in my mind, but that's not a bad thing. It was all consistently good. I have to say, though, I agree that the shakey camera movement was a little much at times. I really enjooyed how they did the extreme zoom to show distances, but there were some shots where the handheld cam look was just distracting.

Anyway that's my only real nit, awesome job all around. I'm a little surprised to say this, but I really enjoyed the miniseries, and I hope they continue it into a TV series. (I haven't kept up on the gossip.) It was much better than I expected.

I was so jazzed when i heard they were making a Battlestar remake and was looking forward to the visuals.....

Once I heard they turned starbuck into a female and that the cylons were no longer, well cylons, i refused to watch it.

Some things just shouldn't be changed and this whole thing doesn't even remotely sound like battlestar.

Actually they picked an interesting woman to play Starbuck.

You should consider giving it a chance anyway. Watch it for what it is, not what it isn't.

Let's see it was on Sci-Fi channel, right? Is there some place those of us who don't get the channel to see it? Maybe a DVD or something?
