Hi im very new at this 3d stuff. I want to design games. Does anyone have any recommded reading or beginner tutorials. I have lightwave and wings 3d. I want to make low poly models, for games, preferiably rpg's and rts'. Any help would be appreciated.

I don't use lightwave or wings, so I don't know where more tutorials/resources for it are.

Some suggestions for starting in low poly modelling:
Find some pictures/concepts from games you like and just model those as practice. Keep the count low, between 500 and 1000 polygons.

Search for books and pictures of anatomy references.

Study the polygon flow of other modellers.

That's all I can think of for now. Hope this helps :)

About how many polygons did they use on the Dungeon Siege characters. If any one knows it would be helpful.

I downloaded a model pack of the game a few months back, but I've seem to have lost it so I can't be sure, but if memory serves, their highest polygon model didn't go over 850

Try checking out their site and downloading one of their art packs, that'll give you a real good idea of what you should be aiming for

In a 3D RTS how many polygons can be shown on the screen at a time including enviorement, building, and moving models?
