Barely started this yesteday, I'll do a little more work on him tonight :)

http://pisong.20m.com/Froggywires.jpg

I don't normally post models this early on, but with all my recent posts showing early wires and stuff the feedback has been great, hope you don't mind

Plus when you juggle many models at a time its cool to update al of them as you go, hope I'm not hogging the forum

lol, I'm going to do the same style as the chameleon, Christophe Desse dubbed it as "Realism Stylized"

:D

And I know I said I'd be done in half an hour, I hate to kill the hype but I got sidetracked :)

Only have the feet left to make, updates soon

Pi3141
12-09-2003, 07:15 PM
Yup his mouth will open.

As you can see from these screens I haven't attached the feet to the back legs, I'll have that done by the next update which will be facial expressions.

The style I'm going for is the same style as my chameleon.

Good question, someone like SplineGod could answer much better then I can. I know I've played with the free CamStudio and thought it worked well, but I really don't know if it's the best free program to use or not.

Cam Studio (http://www.ehelp.com/camstudio/product/screenrecording/)

Steve Warner
12-09-2003, 09:00 PM
Cam Studio works well. Most professionals use Camtasia Studio (http://www.techsmith.com) of which Cam Studio is a rip. It includes a production editor where you can edit your movies, add titles and graphics, and compress the final to Flash, animated GIF, or the TechSmith codec.

Did your frog eat the cameleon?

It is loooking nice. WHat are you doing to get the glowing effect around your character??

Pi3141
12-10-2003, 08:31 PM
lol no :P

You can get the glow around the characters a bunch of ways. I kinda cheat to get it but heck, it works for a still.

When I take the render into Photoshop, I select the background (that forest picture) and gaussian blur it. By default since the selection around the character and foreground isn't perfect, it also blurs the edges of the character and tree, giving it that cool soft 'glow'

yeah it's kind of a hack and a default effect, but I think it looks cool and is easy to do ;)

Pi3141

Forgot to add, N2King if you wanted a wallpaper just ask. I'll render out some to your desktop size. What size do you need?

chrisWhite
12-10-2003, 10:11 PM
Well, of course the bigger the better right, how about 16000x12000  Kidding, I run at 1600x1200, but that's high and I can live with lower res, heck I'm loving it as it is now.

Look out below, she's a big one!

1600x1200

http://pisong.20m.com/Froggy1600x1200.jpg

It's not identical to the other render, but that's because there was some postwork done. Also surfaces aren't complete so if you want an updated wallpaper when I update the frog just lemme know.

As you know me by now, I'll also end up doing a bunch of goofy pose tests, so keep an eye out in a few days :)

Pi3141
12-10-2003, 10:56 PM
lol that's the first time i've seen him THAT big :) There's a few clipping issues in the pose that I didn't see, and the surface looks like cuck that close, I need to work on that.

Pi3141

If I had a Gala, yes you'd have to bring your own frog In fact unless you have one, you can't get in :)

T4D's excused, he rigged it, that's an instant pass :)

Heck, he would be right up there with me lol.

People forget, that I might work quick, but Thomas keeps up with me.

Plus frogs are very boring in their default modeled position, as are chameleons, celebrities and anything else i've done, we can all thank T4D for helping bring them to life :)

I did get around to making that more detailed evirnoment, but i personally don't like it one bit. I think it was a case of "overkill" and the original simpler scenes worked better.

Here take a look

So, on that note I've posted a few renders of the froggy in the first scene in various poses over in the finished gallery.

I would have liked to do more stills like the chameleon, BUT.... I must move on, I have a new animal to make and some anims to finish.

Use programs like Cybercam or Camtasia. They can record x frames per second from your screen. I don't remember if they were freeware or for cost. I found them at tucows.com and download.com. I've used Cybercam quite a bit for my own training cds for Animation:Master
