Damn near photoreal, I agree, very nice job, one crit I would offer, particularily with leather, is to get a little colour into the specular, it can be white if your have a two colour specular, but right now thats the main thig ruining the effect for me is the perfectly white specular. Other then that the model is amazing, and the texture itself very well done. Nice lighting too.

it's a chair.... am I missing something? Technically impressive regarding shading. Not front page though, in my opinion.
PhilOsirus
12-07-2003, 11:37 PM
Yes it is just a chair, but lots of detail that isn't easy to pull of usually, very well lit, and great surfacing. Hence, front page!:)

I agree with sizzlebits, maybe puting the armchair in a nice place...

Much thanks, and congrats on a spectacular image,

haha, never did i think i would see a chair on the frontpage, but you really pulled it off. I like the texturing of the leather, really nailed it.

Oh ... ah ... .. .
Impressive, awsome ...
These words fit my thoughts on that very well ... but from time to time there is work on this forum here for which you have to invent new words we still do not have ... Ok, just kidding a bit ... but its really impressive !!!
For a moment I really tried to sit down in that chair ... but then I realize I could damage my monitor if I really try !

well... modeling rocks... you have very strong modeling skills...
but in my opinion the leather looks a little bit synthetic... like in a cheap stylized chair...
maybe some real antique chair would be a better reference...
i dunno... it also depends on the leather. can you show the reference you used?
even that, very good job...

Very NICE! Absolutely beautiful. I like to make sure I at least give a little creative crit. It's hard with an image with so much perfection to it. Would be nice to see silver buttons where the dents are in the chair. right now it looks like the buttons are the same texture of the chair. It may be a style choice, but I thik it would make it more visually interesting. Just a thought. That's all I can come up with.
Keep It up!
