View Full Version : WIP: dolphins
BAROBA 12-07-2003, 07:45 PM Hi guys and girls
I am currently working on a statue featuring two jumping dolphins.
I think I got pretty decent dolphins, but I got some trouble with the water. Should I keep it stylish or should I go for a much more real looking water?
Forgive me for the lack of AA

Nice looking dolphins!! I think it would be good to see the water a little more stylized. Right now, the part connecting to the dolphins is too high and narrow to be a wave but too thick to be water spray. How will you be texturing this? Will the dolphin texture be photorealistic.
Keep up the great work!

looks good, it would be nice to see those stands/waves, come up and curl into waves. like you might see on an actual figurine type thing.

i agree, make the splashes stylised but use the splashing to make the stand
very on target with the modeling of the dolphs:thumbsup:

Hi guys
Update time again
@Steve Warner, sorry no plans for texturing.
I work a bit on the waves, now the dolphins are lifted up by the waves. Which look alot better IMO.
Should I stop here? Or add splatches and such to the wavetops?

I think some species have smaller dorsel fins, but it could stand to be a bit bigger, I think it might taper back a little more than it is.
