View Full Version : What's the difference between the two builds (glibc and mingw) of Blender?
Astralogic 11-04-2012, 05:02 AM Why would you choose one over the other? Is one better on a particular OS?
I'm just trying to understand what goes into making the decision between the two.
Thanks

looking at build bot glibc is linux only, mingw is for windows. mingw gives a significant speed boost for windows (only for the CPU) over the normal builds (it can half render times). however it is unstable

There's definitely a glibc build for windows. I have it.
Could you link me to the information you found? I want to read up on this a little more, but google doesn't seem give me anything.
Thanks
