maya live can be a really pain in the ass. made a project a while ago with that and it took me a lot of nights to get this work. but if you then know what you should be aware of it's good because of the true integration in maya.

i don't know any good tut except the one that ships with the help, but here are some tips.

first point you have to figure out are good places for tracking marks. you need at least 8 in every frame (absolutely minimum). i've made them for myself with little black and yellow squares and placed them in the live scene.
another thing that helps a lot is to set your image as black/white and increase the contrast. just for tracking purposes it gives the tracker a better reference.
also you need to be aware of the solver scale at the end. the most important point is to set up the coordinate system to align with the ground one. so it's a good idead to set up tracking points in the real shot which are representing the floor. this will give you the ability to tell maya to align these points with the grid in maya. if you don't do that it's very very hard to fit the scene into the live action.

so hope it helps a bit, if you have any specific question you can ask. it's a while ago, but as it was so hard to get this working :) i'm sure i will remember
