View Full Version : MPxLocatorNodes in VP 2.0

Hi all,

Anyone know how to make a custom locator node work in viewport 2.0? It would seem to be possible (according to a footnote on an Around The Corner blog post), but I can't find any information on how to do it.

I'm working in Python if that helps :)

Have a look at MPxDrawOverride. All you need to do is register the drawOverride to your node and then you can perform your draw inside your override.

The footprintNode example in the devkit might be useful to look at. I believe it uses the draw override, if not, run a search through the devkit for MPxDrawOverride to find an example. I chose footprintNode because I think it's the simplest example.

Alas, it seems it doesn't work in the Python API.

Ah that's unfortunate. The MPx***Override classes are the only ways I'm aware of to draw to VP2.0. I guess they haven't pythonized the new VP2.0 SDK yet.
