View Full Version : Some practice
Well, I'm crossposting this to hell and back, but ah well =]
Some paintings in MSPaint I did this afternoon/tonight to play around some. Nothing serious, but a lot of fun =] I have a timelapse of the first one if anyone wants to see it (6 minutes...agh!). Enjoy (or shield your eyes =] )

Wow, we have a pixel master here!
I like it, really. And my friend Sophist will like even more, since he is a "low rez" adept.
Really, nice work. Keep´em coming!

Agh! my heart! did you use a tablet? does mspaint support a tablet? you've proven the old addage: it's not the tools you have, it's what you do with them.

Very good, Marc! Really amazing.
I myself am an adept of produzing images (specially animation) this mspaint and other 'simple' tools... :wavey:
This kind o low resolution image are unique in the hole history of art because before this thin age from 1970s to late 80's the representations of graphisc through computers were severely limited by resolution and color palletes...
It's very nice to explore the possibilities of these limitations, and by these days, mspaint (and graphic programas from dead computer sistems like comodore and MSX) are great tools for doing that!
Trully amazed!:bounce:
Keep it up!!!:applause:
Norante, Tommy, Error: Thanks for the feedback and motivation, guys. These are just sketches that take me about 30 min to an hour...but I'm hoping to do one that takes a bit longer (perhaps a few days), with nice even gradients and tightened edges. =]
Cock: Yeah, I have a 8x6 intuos (first generation =] ). MSPaint doesn't have any pressure sensitive tools, so it's just like using a mouse but with better control. Lots of fun.
sophist: I too am turning to the low-rez stuff. I started digital on an Apple IIe when I was about 4 or 5...and have since moved onto Photoshop/etc with 16.7 million colors. Fairly different from the....oh, black, white, and grey palette of the old days. I'm returning to the low-rez, though, just because it seems like a really fun, raw way of doing things. Did someone say DPaint port for Windows? =]
Oh, and one I did last night before I went off to a movie:

Not more to say then amazing.
Your style is so direct. Absolutly great dark/light area composition.
That theme would be great for the next challenge!!!!!:bounce:
I think I will start a threat in 2d challenges with that idea.
