View Full Version : GeForce GTX 650 ti Running Maya
mrjchilds 10-29-2012, 10:53 AM Hi All,
I'm currently putting together a PC spec and have been trying to research if anyone has been using a GeForce GTX 650ti 2Gb to run Maya (2011 onwards) and if there are any issues?
I've done the usual - check Autodesk's hardware tests but looks like they haven't tested it. I've googled the shizzel out of it but cant find anything.
Any help gratefully received! :)

If that's a Kepler card, then apparently performance is really bad with Maya. People are sticking with last-gen gaming cards because everything newer is crippled in Windows. They work fine in the new MacBook Pro though, since there's only one OpenGL stack in OS X and Apple wouldn't let Nvidia avoid support for pro apps with gaming parts.

Interesting - the GTX 680 has the Kepler architecture and has been tested by Autodesk and passed the test.

Where have you heard that info from Dave?

Their tests don't mean anything anymore
I don't know how many certified cards I've seen them test turn out to be total trash and unusable even with the exact OS and driver installed.
