I think it's meant to be i.e. ---> gotoAndPlay("2");

for example the above would move you to the second frame (because of the 2).

Also you can used a frame label with gotoAndPlay. For example if you create a frame label called "cool" on frame 50.

instead of going ---> gotoAndPlay("50");

you can just go ---> gotoAndPlay("cool");

Hope that helped :)

ok, i guess the first questions ahould be:

1) do you understand the principles of OOP? and specifically do you understand how to implement it in flash
2) do you understand maths well enough to potentially emulate simple pyhsics?

if the answer to 1 is no then examples wont be very useful. If 1 is a yes and 2 is a no then thats fine, you will just have some head scratching to do :)

Robin Debreuil has written the best OOP tutorial I've seen so far. Good for both beginners and advanced programmers:

http://www.debreuil.com/docs/ch01_Intro.htm

Also, the Flashcoders (http://chattyfig.figleaf.com/) mailing list is a top resource for Actionscript in general.
