Hello, as a big fan of ford mustang i've decided to create mustang logo.
This is the best what i was manage to achive but i want it to be perfect, so here are my questions.

What can i do to get rid of that noise in material, i've reduced it a lot but still looks not good enough for me. The material subdives are very high like 64, and render has also really good settings.

The second thing is that sharpness in light all around model.

Outside of these things i really like it and i'm curious what do you think guys ?
So if anyone has some advice please share it with me.

So far so good! Just work more on the reflections to make it look more metallic. With shiny metals, the trick is always the reflections.
The noise is probably cause by shadow samples.

Thanks a lot, i'll try to increse them even more. But still i have no idea how can i improve that metal material, i use dome light with HDRI for the logo lighting, reflections are really high. Any suggestions about how to make that material look better ?

I see you are using a sharpening filter for anti aliassing...
Try using a non-sharpening filter like area, triangle or box.

Sharpening filters tend to enhance details and thus also noise if not enough samples are used.

You can always sharpen afterwards in post.


Also, whats the sampling on your HDRI domelight?

Well, reflection don't really depend on how high are your shader settings, but on shape and position of the reflection. Like in real life, try putting some white cards to be reflected and you'll see the change.

I've added simple plane with gradient ramp and also i 've increased even more some subdivs.
There is a tiny difference, and there is a lot less sharpness around model.

What do you think ?

I think your reflection need more contrast, like areas super-bright and areas very dark. Get some references from google. I'm assuming you want something shiny and polished like chrome.

yes, but i have tried a lot of HDRI and the thing is that the most of them are creating too bright effect i don't really know how to explain that but that gives me pure white reflections or completely dark ( no reflections) on my model so i've chosen the best one which gives me the best effect i guess and i'm trying to stick with that.

You need the freedom of cards to get the reflections where you want, unless you are using something like HDR ligth studio.

If you are planning to model the whole car i would waste too much time on small details like this at the start. First make sure your model is done right, after that then worry about lighting and shading or it will take forever. :D
