Excellent! Is it based on anything in particular.?
I reckon if you can texture it as well as you modelled it. It could be front page stuff!

Nice model. I really like the design although I think that his head is a little too small. :) It would be nice to see some other characters from the same designs.

I really like the definition in his arms.

The muscles in his legs look good but the space between the muscle groups looks a bit odd to me.

The feet are interesting too, but they look more like hands to me or something you would see on a primate.

Cant wait to see more.

and I no what you are talking about, but honestly
I must move on to other models. I may go back
and adjust. I have struggled also with the feet. I
absolutly did not want to give him the old goat leg thing
so I tried something new.

Very nice!

I especially like the shin plates. L:ike ED mentioned the head should be about 1/8 of the whole character (if i remember correctly) unless, of course, it's intentionally small to make the body look more massive

Well the head may seem a bit to small
but look at a muscle mag and you see that
the size of there bodies can make their
heads seem small. the body increases
but the head does not. It may also be the angle
at which I rendered, I dont know.

Any advice on texturing would be great!
I have only textured low poly.

for the head I consider it a choise of the artist and I like it this way. It's original.

Oh, and about the head - I'm positive it's a stylistic choice, I however feel that maybe the whole thing would get a better balance if the head (still in the same size of course) was set a bit lower, closer to the shoulderline = shorter neck. I know I immediately got the impression that something was wrong - so, in a very roundabout way, I'm just suggesting that shortening the neck while keeping the size of the head as is would possibly be an improvement - to an already excellent character.... [how do I turn this thing off?] ... ... ...

To comment on the head, I think the size is indeed a stylistic choice but I would suggest you go with that which reads best in terms of expression rather than *pure* anatomical accuracy. I do think that perhaps the trapezius muscles are a touch too wide at the base.

As regards the feet, I like that you didn't just run to the quadruped hind configuration (no pun intended). I would suggest however modifying the legs slightly to reflect the fact that they would be not quite standard human given their termination in semi-prehensile forward facing toes. I would speculate that given those toes, he would have shorter fibula/tibia, that the feet would be turned out just a shade more, and that he would probably be a touch bow legged and move as such. Please consider this constructive and totally positive--your model is good enough to prompt speculation as to the evolutionary considerations of the anatomy! Congratulations and cheers!

By the way, does he have a weapon? Something primative I hope.

I dont feel confident enough to attempt texturing
So I will first try to perfect the anotomy of creatures
and good, clean modeling.

Yeah XSI smooths n sided polys without any problems. It's pretty easy to get carried away and slice up hundreds of 5 sided polys with XSI's wicked edge tool.
Although, for a mesh that will be deformed (animated) the smoothing is more predictable when using 3 and 4 sided polys.

Utterly inspirational, seriously one of the most impresive things I've seen in a while, congrats all around. The only thing I have to say I that I feel like the definition in the leg muscles, right where they cross, is a little steep. More renders please

I was thinking about the same just now.....

Good work 3dstubb, but I think this model needs a lot of accuracy to be in front page even with textures.:hmm:

But i hear lotsa of polys being wasted (and your time moving them in place too...) there...dont you think so?

Like I said this is my second high poly model
I know its heavy but I must move on to other

great job...really impressive muscle definition...
only suggestion is to reduce the shoulder muscles (tapezius?) they are what are making the head look small"..the head and shoulders are misproportioned relative to each other

....but since you go for distortion/exaggeration, that may be an artistic choice...
