Hahaha model that...
I read the title of the thread as "cool" mecha.
But the image made me laugh and I think it looks like it'd be fun to model.

Looking good so far... definately cant wait to see the texturing.
One suggestion, personally I would have a mask hanging off to the side of his head. Working without in a coal mine is a bad idea... but if this is going cartoony, maybe a cigar...
what is the character's personality anyway?

NeoSGR : hehe good idea, but he doesn't work in a Coal mine. The coal behind is only the combustible that he need to move :)
In fact i like the automate and the old machinery style.
ok here's the rigging tests :
http://www.guntharf.easynet.be/brol/rigging_tests_Q3_contest.jpg
and i'm just started the UV's :

This is cool. I like the coal texture, although it looks a bit like lava or magma.
The model is great too. cant wait for more updates.

Looking very good! Just a few things:
Maybe add a belt or some side stitching to the pants for more detail.
Definitely bring down the saturation of the boots. They are a bit distracting.
Post the texture so we can see what's going on as well!

Akildee : thx for critikz :)
About the belt, if u look at the artwork, u'll see that he has a big belt (near pelvis).
About the saturation on the boots, thx a lot, u're right. It's fixed now :)
Ok, the texturing is almost finished now (95%) :
C&C before .pk3 rlz is more than welcome ;)

you maybe could have used a little bit more of the texture space, but this is a very, very small point. Great stuff man for sure! Detail artistry and design!

Akildee : thx for this posifive comment man !
I know (now) that the texture sheet (and the placement of the different UV parts) wasn't really optimal (too big difference between some UV parts :/ e.g. Chest VS boots yeah.). I must say that it was my really first complete low ploy character. I've learn a lot during the creation. I will pay attention to this in the furure :).
Anyway, thx for ur C&C ;)

Nice job, this turned out really great. Good use of polys as well.
One minor thing: The glasses are really small. They dont stand out as glasses, perhaps they could be a tiny bit bigger.
