Hi I was wondering what this could be, when I render my scene there are some white light patches popping up, in those region are no lights. My setup is one main light for the directional sun (infinite light) and a HDRI for the environment.

Anyone knows what could be causing that?

Thanks
Thomas

I think I found the issue, turning off "Refractive Caustics" in the Gi seems to do the trick.

practically impossible to tell without the scene sadly. I see some clouds in the sky perhaps they are affecting the results

Long time back, it was happening with me. It looks like burning that's why its happening. change light setting/behavior or parameters and try.

It was the HDRI image itself. To fix I just emulated the sky colors in a shader radient and the patched were gone, and the image looked close to identical.

Thanks for the help!

in the future, you can double the image width wise in PS, blur it, crop the center section and have a nice blurred HDRI that will render faster and cleaner. Ideally a sparse convolution would be better, but I'm giving the simple solution with the tools you should already have.
