I know the geforces are no good anymore since nvidia decided to gimp the open gl past the 200 series but I heard that the new radeon cards can outperform even the nvidia quadros. I use a quadro 4000 and I'm curious if anyone that has the new radeons can tell me their frame rates in their open gl for high density meshes so I can compare it to my quadro.

I have one in my gaming rig and I have a Quadro 4000. it's not going to give you a noticeable difference for modelling - it's probably going to give you more trouble considering its gaming driver. It's good for games though.

my complaint with the radeon 7950 in Windows is for whatever reason, it won't allow you to run multiple instances of maya. It just won't draw the additional instances
