dear glactor, or dear master-of-the-fluid-node i'm in a scene where a shuttle-like take off and make a very huge amount of vopour gases go away from the engines.... I first try with particle fx but i have much trouble with the cloud shader -with particles i have no problems to manage fields... - so i try fluid dynamics start browsing some samples... with the nuke sample i get very good efx, but i dunno how to manage field and life of the gas vapour around the launch pad... and the graph editor was full of keyframe.. - so now i'm at the crossroad! Where do i go?

thanks for any hint!

just start a quick render to a low image size... (!) Now i have a new question: what is this pop up about unique names in fluid cache? What names? I've follow by help line that i have to cache fluids (i'm in maya5.0.1) and if i don't lika how they looks i have to delete cache... i've changed the scene filename since i start this render that make me asleep!! anyway i'll wait the end of the rendering to watch this maya surprise effect!

have no hurry to help me! :D

I've been watching this one cause it looks killer (I'm a sucker for simulations) , so first off, I don't have anything to say to help you out except.

1. You should try simplifying your dynamic simulation. I can only imagine that it takes a long time for your current one.

2. Your probably far better off posting this in the dynamics section.

Can't wait to see the launch!!

Here's what I could find about fluids and fields. Did you set the grid to dynamic?
