Long story short: After FuelVFX went into volountary administration and inquired about being bought, Animal Logic went in and bought the assets, and decided to keep the company as is instead of cannibalizing it.

A good chunk had already been asked to be on Lw/oP or had moved elsewhere by the time they filed for administration, and even more by the time AL stepped in AFAIK.

Well before news even went around of administration I remember seeing a fair few historical Fuelites out for interviews. So probably not many, but not because of the acquisition itself, trouble had been brewing for a while.
