View Full Version : SSS settings?
chikega 12-03-2003, 03:54 AM Has anyone messed with the Subsurface Scattering effect in messiah:studio yet? I've seen one example on Pmg's site - does anyone know who did the example rendering (white translucent head).

There are so many variables - I just don't know where to get started. Any startoff settings, hints would be much appreciated.:)
As some already know, I've done quite a few SSS experiments using G2 & LW.

I also just got C4d 8.5 which now has SSS. It would be nice to contrast and compare the three available methods. :)

Lyle over at the yahoo group says the SSS is gonna break onto its own shader set in the next patch instead of being in the standard shader set

Cool - can't wait. I'll try to mess with some of the existing variables in the meantime - maybe I'll happen upon something serendipitously.:)

Yeah I was wondering the same exact thing myself. I hope the next patch pops up soon. I fear it will be a bit though.

That all depends on how you translate "a bit"...
So far, we've been averaging a patch a month.

BTW, I liked your G2 samples:thumbsup: I look forward to the samples you'll create with messiah when we release the SSS shader.
