Please can someone help me. I am having immense trouble getting the map channels to work properly. I have followed the documentation to the letter. What I need to do is apply some decals to my geometry without affecting the mapping I have already done. I am working on a WW2 plane and I need to apply the german insignia without affecting the whole plane texture.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. A sample scene would be even better.

Thanks,
Mr Fudge

Mapping channels allow you to have multiple sets of UV co-ordinates on the one object - but to actually apply a decal for example you need to use some sort of material or map that allows you to blend more than one material or map together with a mask. Example mix map or blend material. You use the mapping channels so you have control over the mapping of your different maps. The mapping channel can be changed in the material editor.

I am well aware of what the do. This is why I want to use them. Like I said I have followed the documentation to the letter but cannot seem to get the object to display the two layered textures. I have tried composite materials and Multi Sub object but no dice. If you could I would love it if you could mail me a sample file so I can have a look. This is my address lesley.bosworth@iafrica.com
