Hay everyone I decided to try maya and xsi to see what one i liked, i fell in love with xsi's option + and -. it helped me see what i was creating way better.

my question is does maya have anything like it were i can press it and see my smooth result, and be able to un smooth and go back to work blocky.

thanks for any words.

i know about smooth proxy but... maybe you can help me see my result faster and go back you know?

maya puts your models into layers when it creates a smooth proxy. Simply hide the highrez version when you dont want to see it.

or you could make a custom button on your desired shelf, hold down ctrl+shift+alt and rename it to whatever you like. Ctrl+z for undo or z for redo, I believe there is a script on www.highend3d.com sorry cant remember the name of it, would be easier to model in subd and convert to poly, whichever workflow you like better.

Goodluck

heya RUEND,

I myself love the + and - fucntion in XSI.. and the good news is that you can do it too in Maya with the CPS tools.

Just simply bind to any hotkey you want, and thats it!

regards.
