Hi,

Are there any resources on the web where I can download already animated scenes so I can light and shade them?

3drender.com has some nice non animated scenes. Dunno if that will help you out at all. I don't think you'll be able to find many (free) scenes with pre animated stuff. If you use maya, you could load in one of the mocap examples from the visor into one of the scenes.
