View Full Version : HMC #35: SPORTS IN MOTION!: Javelin (Andreas Thorkildsen)
A was thinking about modeling the great Norwegian athlete Andreas Thorkildsen at the moment he is about to throws the javelin. I think, if I get it right, it can be a powerful and interesting pose.
Really looking forward to this one.
Here is a photo of the guy.

Oh yeah! classic olympic pose man. Good choice
I was lucky to find some decent pictures of his profile and front yesterday.
Started on the basemesh for the head today.
Started working a bit on the body and done some small tweeks to the head.
The fine details I will work on in Mudbox.
Working my way down.
Very small update. Done some new topology in the groin area.
Done some modelling again. Also fixed a couple of bad topology solutions.
I will soon take him into Mudbox for some sculpting.
Been unwrapping since last time.

Looking good so far. I think the forearms look too short and the hands are a little small, but other then that I think it's looking good.
The facial features and torso look really good!
Good luck on the deadline
You are right! I will try to sort those problems out today. Thanks Splinter!
I made the hands a bit larger, and the forearms are a bit longer.
I would have liked to be able to make the shoes a bit more detailed, but when I posed the shoes with the rest of the guy, the detail level was quite similar.
I would have liked to maybe do the shorts a bit more detailed too, but due to some laptop limitations, I couldn't really add any more supdivitions.
